For over 30 years, Ross Tree has been the go-to tree service company for complicated large tree service jobs. Completing difficult tree service jobs near a home, garage, and fence structures requires specialized skills and equipment. A permit is needed for a full or partial street closing if the work is near a busy street.

Large Tree Job Focus

Hiring cranes to lift tree sections and the trunk onto a street is a great way to remove large backyard trees. We know what crane is needed based on tree size. A great example of large tree removal in tight places occurred near the intersection of South Pearl and Louisiana about a block from Duffyrolls in Spring 2023. Ross Tree pulled a permit from the City of Denver to close the street and hired a crane company to assist with the tree removal. The job took two chipper trucks, a grabble truck with a crew of four to six men. The crane truck had six axles with 26 tires and was rated at 120 tons. It could be seen from Washington Park over six blocks away.

The tree is in the backyard, while the crane and trucks are parked on South Pearl Street. Piece by piece, the Ross Tree climbers cut large sections off the tree, and the crane lifted them over the home. Once placed on the street, the work crew released the cable and cut the large branches and trunk into sections. The grapple picked up the tree sections and put them into the truck bed. The two chipper trucks took care of the smaller branches. The last cut was the trunk which was the size of a large truck. The tree climber attached the cable to the top of the trunk, and with ease, the crane lifted it over the home onto the street. The efficiencies gained by using the crane are worth the cost. Removing the tree from the backyard took less than six hours. Ross Tree used a stump grinder to remove the stump. Once completed, the crew removed all the stump debris and filled the hole with topsoil. The Ross team raked the yard clean before leaving the job.

Tree Service Next To Busy Streets

street closure permit process

If a road has a yellow line, the street must be closed for truck and equipment staging. Pulling a permit for a street closure is a long and stressful process for the unacquainted. To avoid this hassle, call Ross Tree because we have long-standing relationships with all the permit and forestry departments across the Denver metro area. We obtain permits in about two weeks at a much lower cost. Additionally, Ross Tree and National Barricade work together to make the work area safe for both the tree-service ground crews and the public. Homeowners with big tree jobs are in good hands when their hire Ross Tree for tree service jobs next to busy streets.

Efficiency and Innovation

Ross Tree Company continuously looks for ways to innovate and improve our tree service capabilities. We proudly offer a new labor-saving technique using a Good Rigging Control System (GRCS). Sailors use self-tailing winches on yachts to maneuver massive boat rigging and sails. An innovative arborist successfully used a sailing-grade winch for a tree service job. He formed a company to sell and market the GRCS. One and two-person crews using a winch system reduce labor costs. The teams use the GRCS for mechanical advantage to lower tree sections or put tension on limbs. Once secure, the technician cuts the tree. Ross Tree uses an innovative speed-lining technique to move tree sections over roofs and fences to be shredded and loaded onto trucks.
