Ross Tree believes in educating its customers about tree and plant healthcare. Our general manager, an ISA-certified arborist, has over 30 video blogs on YouTube. Homeowners use the Ross Tree Insect Calendar to identify pests munching on their yard trees. We have posted over 80 blogs about trees on our website since 2019. Ross Tree sends out a quarterly email newsletter to its customers.
Sheridan Tree Programs
Sheridan’s Forestry department is responsible for caring for and maintaining all trees on city-owned property, including parks, open space, public spaces, and right-of-ways. Trees are a significant part of Sheridan’s urban environment, providing beauty, shade, and ambiance. Click here for more information about the city of Sheridan’s tree programs.
Emerald Ash Borer
Currently, the EAB is not found in Sheridan, Colorado, but is detected in multiple nearby communities in Arapahoe and Jefferson counties. With confirmed cases in neighboring cities, experts consider it a matter of time before it arrives in Sheridan. The time to act is now because Ash has no immunity to the EAB. Sheridan’s forester expects all property owners to manage and treat their Ash yard trees. Check out the Ross Tree EAB Handbook to understand your treatment options.
Tri-Level Fertilization Program
Ross Tree’s started its popular Tri-Level Fertilization Program in 2024. We use proprietary feeding formulations to help trees flourish in Denver’s arid climate and poor soils. The program has three feedings per year rather than two.

Hackberry Trees Issues
Hackberry is a medium-sized shade tree planted in most neighborhoods in Sheridan that is relatively disease-resistant. It is one of the few trees native to Colorado, so it is drought-tolerant and resilient to unpredictable weather. Hackberries grow 50 feet tall, forming a pleasing vase-shaped crown at maturity. Its shape makes it a suitable replacement for disease-prone American Elms.
Lawn Snow Molds
Some homeowners will be surprised as the snow melts, finding pink and gray patches of matted grass. They might shake their head, thinking they are seeing pink or gray spots, but these patches are a sign of the turfgrass diseases called pink or gray snow mold.
